Senior Manager, Library & Information Services Leadership Role | Knowledge & Information Management Sydney CBD $150k + super I am working on a rare opportunity, looking for an experienced leader to guide the strategic direction, operations and continuous improvement of a major library, records and information service within a complex, high-profile organisation. This role oversees multiple specialist team, including Client Services, Collection & Digital Services, and Records & Archives and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, impartial and contemporary information services to a diverse client base. You will lead innovation, uplift digital capability, and strengthen service excellence across the organisation. Degree qualification in library or information management, or extensive equivalent professional experience. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic vision, priorities and long-term direction of the Library & Information Services function. Analyse operational data, technology trends and client needs to inform best practice and future service design. Drive organisation-wide change across library, records, archives and information management practices. Assess and implement advancements in information delivery, collection management, and digital technologies. Foster a safe, inclusive and respectful team culture, addressing incidents in line with organisational protocols. Deliver an exceptional client experience through proactive engagement and responsive service delivery. Oversee staff development, resource allocation and service quality, ensuring accurate, timely and impartial information outputs. Manage budgets, reporting and financial oversight to ensure operations remain within approved allocations. Delivering accurate, objective and timely information services in a sensitive and high-stakes environment. Cultivating a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture. Understanding and meeting varied and often complex information needs across a broad client group. Key Relationships The role works closely with: Executive leaders – for reporting, strategic alignment, issue escalation and operational planning. Senior officers and internal partners – to ensure services are aligned with organisational needs and support key initiatives. Specialist and frontline staff – providing guidance, setting priorities, supporting development and overseeing quality. External stakeholders and sector networks – maintaining connections with other major libraries, archives and information bodies to stay ahead of industry trends and best practice. Key Knowledge & Experience Extensive experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams. Strong background in contemporary library and information management systems, research, planning and technology. Proven ability to navigate complex organisations with a strong customer-service focus.
