Role Overview The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for continuous delivery and lifecycle management of software applications, automating processes, optimising systems and ensuring reliability and security of production environments in collaboration with software development teams. Role Accountabilities Identify automation needs across development teams and implement optimisations. Research and recommend best‑practice solutions aligned to program needs. Collaborate and implement DevOps principles within squads. Identify and implement security solutions. Propose changes to system architecture to enhance resilience and observability. Champion new initiatives and solutions that improve our cloud infrastructure. Manage a global fleet of tens of thousands of Linux‑powered IoT devices. Monitor systems and respond to alerts to maintain uptime. Analyse current business processes to incorporate improvements into our products. Develop documentation to support operations teams. Work closely with the tech lead to anticipate problems and propose solutions. Role Requirements Min 3‑5 years experience in software development or platform engineering teams. Experience with Agile methodology. Infrastructure as Code experience (CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK) – at least one of the three. Strong knowledge of AWS services: EC2, Lambda, SQS. Solid grasp of advanced serverless and containerised workloads. Linux system and network administration skills (Ubuntu preferred). Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible. Experience with monitoring and observability dashboards (SumoLogic, AWS CloudWatch). Deep understanding of modern architectural patterns (distributed architectures, microservices).
