We’re looking for a Full-time or Part-time Head Vet Nurse to join our talented and dynamic team at Burpengary Vet Hospital We pride ourselves on the high level of customer service and veterinary care. Our practice comprises 11 Vets, 13 Nurses, and 2 Full-Time receptionists. Our opening hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm and Saturdays 8am-1pm. What We’re Looking For Certificate IV in Vet Nursing or equivalent qualification. 2+ years of Vet Nurse experience or experience within a Head Vet Nurse role. Strong experience in nursing and handling a variety of cases. Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay calm under pressure. Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Genuine passion for animal care and commitment to providing the best service to clients and their pets. Availability to work on a rotating Saturday roster. About The Role Assist veterinarians with routine exams and procedures. Provide surgical and hospital nursing care, including anaesthetic monitoring. Deliver pre- and post-operative patient care, and offer grief support to clients. Administer medications and prepare treatments. Manage admission and discharge processes for surgical and hospital patients. Communicate treatment plans and updates to clients. Perform blood collection, testing, and IV catheter placement. Assist with diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasounds). Support dental care, including scale and polish, and perform dental x-rays. Contribute to daily nursing tasks to support vets and team in providing high-standard patient care. Mentor and train Vet Nurses within the team.
