Peer workers help services to strengthen recovery‑oriented ways of working and offer hope and empathy, support and mentorship to others facing similar situations. WNSWLHD support the growth and embedding of this new and highly valued workforce. This position sits with the Acute and Continuing Care Team and in‑reaches to Inpatient Units at Bloomfield. The position also supports people accessing services as they transfer from the Acute Mental Health Inpatient setting back into the community. Acute and Continuing Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team. Mental Health Acute Care services provide assessment and brief interventions to people with mental health acute care needs in a community setting; and Continuing Care services provide recovery focused assessment and clinical case management and treatment services to people in the adult range – 18‑64 years of age. Location Orange, with a population of 40,000, is a major regional city with a true provincial feel. Located in Central West NSW, just over 3 hours from the capital and nearby coast lines, it has a regional airport which runs regular flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
