About the Opportunities As an Information Technology Trainee, you will obtain practical experience within Council’s Service Desk team while undertaking a Certificate III in Information Technology. You will develop core IT capabilities through structured training, professional guidance and hands‑on technical work throughout the 24‑month traineeship. Core duties may include Providing on-site and telephone‑based IT support to staff. Configuring and installing PCs, laptops, printers, software and peripherals. Supporting Council’s telecommunications systems and services. Assisting with general business software and applications. Logging and managing IT requests and incidents using a Service Desk system. Updating documentation and maintaining hardware / software asset registers. Following established processes, guidelines and service standards. Contributing to continuous improvement within the IT support function. This traineeship is an excellent opportunity to develop the skills and confidence needed for a career in Information Technology, with full support from experienced IT professionals. About You We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who : Are committed to completing a Certificate III in Information Technology. Have completed Year 12 or equivalent with suitable literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrate a genuine passion for technology, shown through IT‑related school subjects or personal interest. Possess strong communication and teamwork skills. Can work independently and follow instructions. Have sound computer literacy and an eagerness to learn. Hold a current C‑Class driver licence (highly regarded). Previous experience in customer service is desirable, but not required.
