Information Technology Trainee On-site, permanent, full-time, temporary full-time 24-month contract commencing January 2026 in Bundaberg Region. As a trainee within Council’s Information Services Branch, you will be part of a team that supports the organisation’s technology needs – from software and hardware support to telecommunications services, helping deliver reliable and effective digital services to our community. About the Opportunities As an Information Technology Trainee , you will obtain practical experience within Council’s Service Desk team while undertaking a Certificate III in Information Technology . You will develop core IT capabilities through structured training, professional guidance and hands‑on technical work throughout the 24‑month traineeship. Responsibilities Providing on-site and telephone-based IT support to staff. Configuring and installing PCs, laptops, printers, software and peripherals. Supporting Council’s telecommunications systems and services. Assisting with general business software and applications. Logging and managing IT requests and incidents using a Service Desk system. Updating documentation and maintaining hardware/software asset registers. Following established processes, guidelines and service standards. Contributing to continuous improvement within the IT support function. About You Committed to completing a Certificate III in Information Technology. Have completed Year 12 or equivalent with suitable literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrate a genuine passion for technology, shown through IT-related school subjects or personal interest. Possess strong communication and teamwork skills. Can work independently and follow instructions. Have sound computer literacy and an eagerness to learn. Hold a current C-Class driver licence (highly regarded). Previous experience in customer service is desirable, but not required.
