Grow your government procurement capability in a unique environment Broad tendering scope with great stakeholder exposure About Our Client This opportunity is with a small-sized organisation in the Public Sector known for its commitment to delivering outstanding services. The organisation focuses on efficient and transparent operations in procurement and supply chain management. Job Description Manage and oversee procurement activities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Prepare and review contracts and ensure proper documentation. Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support value‑for‑money outcomes. Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies. Support tender processes, including evaluation and recommendation of suppliers. Maintain accurate procurement records and reports for auditing purposes. Provide guidance and advice on procurement and contracting processes to internal teams. The Successful Applicant A successful Procurement & Contracts Officer should have: Demonstrated experience delivering end‑to‑end government procurement and tendering, ideally across works, civil and capital projects Strong understanding of WA procurement frameworks, including proven usage of TendersWA Background in Local or State Government (essential) Ability to support project managers through RFx development, evaluation, TER preparation and contract award Skilled in providing procurement advice, governance and compliance oversight across multiple stakeholders Confident engaging with a diverse internal client group (PMs, Finance, Exec), building trust and influencing outcomes Highly organised, able to manage concurrent procurement activities and meet schedule, scope + quality requirements Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare and review formal procurement documentation and briefing notes Experience with contract administration, including records management and reporting Familiarity with SAGE or similar finance systems (desirable) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, adapting as the function scale What's on Offer Competitive hourly rate between $55 - $65 / hour Opportunity to work in a meaningful and impactful Public Sector role.
