Community Palliative Care Nurse - Registered Nurses Banksia Palliative Care Service, located in Heidelberg, is a community-based specialist palliative care organisation providing services to people with life-limiting or terminal illnesses. Our clients are based in the local council areas of Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea. The Role Banksia welcomes applications from experienced Palliative Care Registered Nurses to join our team on a permanent part‑time basis (0.6EFT – 0.8EFT). As a Community Palliative Care Nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of holistic care to the clients within an interdisciplinary model, which includes support for family and carers. You will provide in‑home visits to clients, complete comprehensive assessments and implement management plans to optimise quality of life. If you are passionate about palliative care and community working models, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, we would love to hear from you Required Skills and Experience Completed a degree in General Nursing and have current professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Have a minimum of three months recent experience (in the last three years) in Palliative Care/Oncology/Hematology nursing within a community or hospital‑based service and at least five years of nursing experience. Strong team orientation with a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients. The ability to work a flexible roster which may include on‑call overnight. Hold an unrestricted driver’s license, have access to a car and be willing to use it for work when requested (with reimbursement). Permanent Australian residency. Standard operating hours between 08:30‑17:00 with no afternoon or night shifts for a positive work‑life balance. On‑call and higher duties available with training and experience.
