Specialist Emergency Consultant Join to apply for the Specialist Emergency role at St John of God Health Care. St John Geelong Hospital is looking for an experienced Emergency Consultant who can provide specialist emergency services to adult and paediatric patients. The position is part‑time permanent (up to 0.5 FTE) commencing February 2026 and offers flexible work options. Responsibilities Provide clinical management of emergency department patients. Maintain ethical and respectful behaviour towards all staff and patients. Awareness of Indigenous customs and community expectations. Participate fully in the doctor’s roster, including after‑hours on‑call duties. Supervise junior medical staff, including assessment of clinical performance, documentation, discharge summaries, communication with patients and families, cultural awareness in regard to Indigenous patients and communities, and awareness of cultural and language diversity in the community. Promote a supportive team environment. Qualifications Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent professional membership. Demonstrated substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment. Ability to build a collaborative team and drive clinical quality initiatives.
