Social Worker - Eagleby Learning Centre - Centre for Continuing Secondary Education Join the dynamic and innovative wellbeing workforce in the South East Region team to provide support to young people enrolled at Eagleby Learning centre on a temporary full‑time basis. The successful candidate will provide quality school‑based mental health care and intervention for students. Your role involves facilitating collaborative decision‑making to enhance student learning and wellbeing. Who We Are: The Wellbeing Workforce in the South East Region is a growing team passionate about helping students from Prep to Year 12 with their mental health needs. We work with students to connect, engage and support them to maximise their education outcomes. What Your Day Will Look Like: Every day you’ll apply your clinical knowledge and decision‑making to deliver targeted therapeutic interventions that address mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing needs of students and make a positive impact in the lives of children and young people. You will collaborate with key school staff and work directly with students and families to support mental health needs, ensure exceptional service standards, and contribute to innovative approaches in supporting the needs of young people in an education setting. Through mentorship, leadership, and community engagement, your role will profoundly impact the lives of families while advancing professional practices. Step Into Your Next Chapter: The Wellbeing Workforce Social Workers work within the school environment and with the school team, under the leadership and guidance of regional office based clinical supervisors, to maximise optimal care for students. Responsibilities Undertake individual and group counselling with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns. Provide professional social welfare assessments, interventions and follow up support to students, parents/carers and individuals as required. Identify needs and participate in the referral and planning of services for children, parents and families to community agencies such as health and welfare. Develop and implement strategies to provide information, support and encourage awareness of, and participation by, parents/carers and the community in school activities and programs. Act as the contact for parents/carers and the community to determine relevant issues for improved relationships between the school and community. Participate in the planning, development and delivery or organisation of public presentations designed to inform and educate parents and community members/groups about social issues affecting the learning capacity of students. Monitor, evaluate and review the implementation of programs provided within an educational environment. Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team. Develop and or maintain appropriate data collection and confidential record keeping and reporting systems for individual students referred for social work services in line with department procedures and policies. Participate as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to school, community and inter‑agency networks relevant to the position's role.
