Come and join us The role is part of Keeping the Body in Mind, an innovative physical health team that includes a Clinical Nurse Consultant, Exercise Physiologist, Dietitian and Peer Support Worker to develop, implement and evaluate targeted lifestyle and pharmacological interventions to reduce cardio‑metabolic risk factors in consumers with severe mental illness. The position will focus on working with young people in the early stages of mental illness. Responsibilities Assess the nutritional needs of consumers with severe mental illness. Develop an individualised dietary management plan in collaboration with each consumer. Collect and analyse data to evaluate the impact of lifestyle interventions on cardio‑metabolic health. Deliver dietary education and training to mental health clinicians, GPs and other professionals. Qualifications Qualification in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and a bachelor or postgraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, or another equivalent qualification. Clinical dietetic experience with consumers with mental illness. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and exercise professional judgement on routine matters. Effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to produce quality written documentation using proficient IT skills. Excellent organisational skills. Initiative and proactive work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as a team member. Capacity to develop and deliver dietary education and training to a range of professionals.
