Think Intellect Consulting Pty Ltd – Sydney CBD NSW Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in office) Position : Daily Rate Duration: 6 months rolling contract (Long Term assignment) Positions Available: Multiple Work Eligibility: People with valid working rights only, NO VISA sponsorship available for this role. Role overview : We are seeking a highly skilled Java Engineer to join our team in support of a major financial client. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java , Spring and Spring Boot frameworks. Familiarity with Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and Agile development methodologies is essential. You will be working on mission-critical systems that support financial operations, contributing to both greenfield development and modernization of legacy systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features. Implement and advocate for Event-Driven Architecture and microservices-based solutions. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative software delivery. Write clean, scalable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards. Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to streamline CI/CD and testing pipelines. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java (preferably Java 11 or newer). Strong experience with Spring Framework (including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, etc.). Minimum 5+ years of commercial Spring Framework experience is required. Solid understanding and practical experience with Event-Driven Architecture and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). Familiarity with RESTful APIs , microservices, and distributed systems. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the financial services industry or other regulated environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
