The program defines best practice standards by creating a carer friendly workplace, enabling staff to balance work and care, while continuing to contribute to the wellbeing of individuals, families and the community. In Western Australia, the Department of Communities (Communities) is responsible for child protection. We work proactively with families to build safety around children and prevent the need for children to enter the out-of-home-care system. We also support children and young people who are in out-of-home care to thrive by working with community sector organisations and foster carers to provide them with a safe, stable environment. Case workers at the Department currently use the Assist case management system to manage client and case records. The Assist Reform Program was initiated in 2023 to create a case management system that seamlessly aligns with case practice, legislation and child protection frameworks to support practical, culturally informed and coordinated service delivery. The program will transform case management, providing more time for case workers to focus on clients, improving decision making and delivering contemporary digital technology that is responsive to changing business needs, mobile working, collaborative ways of working and future technology advances. The Project Manager will need to align with Communities Values as core principles that define how we work together, with our partners and people we serve. Opportunity lead the development, implementation and management of comprehensive program and project management planning, frameworks and policies to achieve strategic and organisational business priorities and objectives; manage strategic frameworks and processes for effective assessment and evaluation of strategies, programs and projects, against strategic financial and risk management objectives and standards; plan, establish and manage the development of project plans, resource plans and budgets for the implementation of projects; identify and develop business cases at conceptual, feasibility and final approval phases and oversees business case inputs from technical specialists; and develop strong and collegiate strategic networks and relationships with key external stakeholders and agencies to facilitate benchmarking, innovation and best practice.
