Commercial and Regulatory Director Start Date: ASAPEnd Date: 31/08/2026Hours: 7 hours/day, 35 hours/weekPay Rate: $220.54/hour + superLocation: Sydney CBD Role Overview The NSW Government is seeking an experienced Commercial and Regulatory Director to lead the commercial management of major infrastructure project contracts. The role requires providing strategic commercial advice, managing contract risks, and coordinating commercial resources in a high‑pressure, regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial risks of major project deeds and other significant contract agreements. Provide strategic commercial advice to the Executive Project Director. Coordinate and manage commercial resources to ensure effective contract administration. Lead and guide teams, prioritising workloads and providing strategic direction. Balancing and prioritising competing workloads and commercial priorities. Maintaining productive and professional working relationships with contractors under high‑pressure conditions. Navigating a unique contract modelled on a Public‑Private Partnership (PPP) in a regulated environment. Essential Skills and Experience Senior‑level experience in commercial or regulatory roles on large infrastructure projects, either on the client or contractor side. Proven track record in managing large claims ($50–100+ million) through to resolution. Experience leading teams and providing strategic direction for complex workloads. Strong commercial acumen and practical approach to contract management.
