Overview Senior Regulatory Officer - Registration Services (Permanent, Brisbane, QLD) Location: Brisbane Inner City, Australia. Closing date: September 15, 2025. Job Reference: QLD/CO /25P. About This Job: The Department of Education, Queensland, invites applications for a role that supports regulatory practice reforms and initiatives within the relevant legislative frameworks. The position focuses on providing recommendations, advice and information in accordance with good administrative decision-making and best-practice regulation. Responsibilities Undertaking regulatory activities and making recommendations to support the unit in accordance with the legislation and the principles of good administrative decision making. Providing data-informed recommendations, interpreting legislation accurately and communicating decisions and outcomes to stakeholders. Identifying and addressing sector risk using risk-based decision making, exercising powers, gathering evidence and escalating matters as required. Contributing to effective record-keeping practices, data quality assurance and appropriate use of regulatory systems. Implementing operational policy initiatives using feedback, evaluation and data analysis to improve regulatory processes to meet obligations under relevant legislation. Providing high-quality advice and managing expectations of internal and external stakeholders including parents, governing bodies of non-state schools, sector representative bodies and the public on regulatory activities. Preparing accurate, well-written communications on regulation-related matters including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions and recommendations. About You You will be highly organised, capable of navigating complex issues, and possess well-developed conceptual, analytical and communication skills. You should be able to interpret and apply legislation and policy in a regulatory environment, analyse matters, make sound judgments and recommendations, manage a high volume of work, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
