Saltbush is seeking a dedicated and culturally aware Mentor to join our Employment Services team in Darwin. Location: Darwin Employment Type: Permanent Full-time Excellent Remuneration: $80k + 12% super + salary packaging + 5 weeks annual leave Reports To: Employment Services Manager Hours: Normal business hours, with flexibility for additional hours as needed Travel: Occasional travel to other Saltbush service locations The filling of the available roles is intended to constitute an affirmative measure under Section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975. As an Employment Services Mentor with Saltbush, you’ll be someone who listens, understands, and walks alongside job seekers from our communities. You’ll help them navigate the challenges of finding and keeping work, offering guidance that’s grounded in respect and cultural understanding. Your Journey with Us: Be a Guide: Work closely with First Nations job seekers, helping them see the path to employment and walking with them every step of the way. Build Trust: Create strong, respectful relationships that honour the stories and experiences of our people. Craft Pathways: Collaborate with trainers and counsellors to develop personalised plans that reflect each participant’s strengths and goals. Share Knowledge: Lead workshops and one‑on‑one sessions that not only teach but also inspire confidence and independence. Celebrate Progress : Keep track of every milestone and share in the joy of each success, knowing that your support made a difference. What You Bring: Cultural Connection: Proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage and a deep understanding of the challenges our people face. Experience in Support: Background in employment services, with a special focus on working with Aboriginal communities would be highly regarded. A Heart for Community : Strong relationship‑building skills and a commitment to empowering others. Tech Savvy: Comfortable with MS Office and other tools to keep track of participant progress.
