With over four decades of dedicated service, the organisation delivers vital programs in alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselling, employment and training, driver education, and homelessness support. As a proud Aboriginal organisation, Bloodwood Tree works closely with Elders, regional partners, and government bodies to build brighter futures through real, lasting community impact. Its purpose-driven team leads with compassion and cultural integrity, making a genuine difference across the region. Hands-On, Heart-Driven Leadership Bloodwood Tree is looking for a full-time Community Services Co‑ordinator – Employment & Training, based in South Hedland, WA. Reporting to the Community Services Manager – Employment & Training, you’ll lead the delivery of high‑impact programs that help local people build job readiness, access training, and step into meaningful employment. Responsibilities More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinating and implementing employment and training programs aligned with community needs Leading and mentoring a small team (including one remote team member in Newman) Managing program budgets, compliance and data reporting Facilitating workshops, job expos, and training initiatives Working closely with stakeholders including TAFEs, schools and employers Travelling regularly to Newman with overnight stays as required Supporting succession planning and team capability uplift Upholding WHS, governance, and community engagement standards Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: Certificate IV in Career Development (or willingness to obtain) A valid WA Driver’s Licence National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain) Proven experience in employment, training, or community services Some exposure to leadership, coordination, or team support responsibilities Desired/Additional Qualifications Experience working with Aboriginal communities Knowledge of WA employment and training programs Familiarity with funding contracts, compliance frameworks and WHS Strong community connections and relationship‑building skills Budgeting and performance delivery experience Personal Qualities Hands‑on, not afraid to jump in and carry a caseload Personable, approachable, and empathetic with lived or learned cultural awareness Detail‑oriented and organised, with strong reporting and documentation skills Resilient and able to maintain high standards, even in remote or challenging settings Someone who is ready to step into leadership and grow — or has already started the journey You’ll be supported by a highly experienced and passionate manager, Kelly, who is known for her high standards and deep commitment to the Jobs and Skills contract. She will personally guide your induction, walk you through key partnerships, and mentor you through the program’s frameworks and expectations.
