Queensland Law Society (QLS) is the professional body for legal practitioners, representing more than 14,000 members state-wide. Job Description QLS has a Permanent opportunity for a Data Analyst to join their Business Applications team. Our Business Applications team plays a key role in enabling the Society’s operations through the delivery and maintenance of enterprise systems. The team supports digital transformation, collaborates across business units, and ensures our systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with organisational goals. As a Data Analyst, you’ll bridge business and technology by turning complex organisational data into actionable insights, designing interactive dashboards, and using data storytelling to empower teams and drive smarter decisions across systems and business units. In this role you will: Extract and analyse data from Microsoft SQL databases and Dynamics 365 to identify trends and support informed decision making. Design and deliver interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI to communicate key metrics and insights. Implement and maintain data collection processes to ensure high quality data for analysis. Monitor data to spot patterns or anomalies and develop recommendations for business improvements. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and help them use insights to improve operations and member services. Train and support staff in using data tools and systems to boost data literacy and enable effective self-service analytics. Ideally you will have the following: A Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field. 5+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst, ideally within a professional services environment. Expertise in Power BI dashboard development and SQL query writing, with strong model validation skills. A solid grasp of data storytelling to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. Experience with CRM and ERP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly regarded. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL database administration and statistical analysis techniques. A background in enabling self-service BI and improving data literacy across teams. Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and visualisation (advantageous). Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to work effectively across business and technical teams.
