The role The Ship Scheduler plays a critical role in coordinating shipping movements within the Port of Darwin to provide effective and efficient service solutions for all relevant stakeholders and in line with the scheduling procedures and the Darwin Port Access Policy. You will also manage Marine Pilot resource allocations using our Port Management System, and pilot boat utilisation within the Port of Darwin to ensure safe and efficient shipping. This is an onsite, hands‑on scheduling role offers a unique opportunity to work along side our professional Marine Operations team. Position Objectives Be the central contact for all Port vessel stakeholders to provide information on vessel movements Plan and co‑ordinate the allocation of berths and ship scheduling Liaise with relevant stakeholders and staff to develop short and long‑term plans for vessel movements and resource allocations including long‑term cruise ship scheduling. Qualifications Previous experience working in an operational administrative role that involved coordination, planning or scheduling. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities. Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience in scheduling, logistics planning, or a comparable role. Exposure to marine, transport, logistics or port related operations is desirable. Experience using scheduling or operational planning tools is. All applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identity Card (MSIC) and will be required to undertake a pre‑employment medical assessment and will be subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Company policy. 37.5 hours per week worked Monday – Friday. Onsite position, located at East Arm Wharf. 5 weeks annual leave per annum (accrued pro rata). Permanent full‑time position.
