About the Opportunity We are seeking a SaaS Platform Configuration Specialist to join our team. The Configuration Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the delivery, configuration, maintenance and ongoing enhancement of our new SaaS platforms for insurance policy and claims management. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that product rules, rating engines, workflows, and system parameters are accurately configured to support efficient policy administration and claims processing. This role works closely with underwriting, product, and IT teams, to ensure system changes align with business goals, user experience standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Configure and maintain insurance product rules, rating algorithms, and workflows within underwriting platforms and underwriting guidelines. Translate business and underwriting requirements into system configurations and logic. Collaborate with stakeholders. Participate in sprint planning and backlog grooming to ensure configuration tasks are well-defined & aligned with delivery timelines. Conduct system testing (UAT, regression, and integration) to validate configurations and ensure quality outcomes. Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues. Analyze usage data and user feedback to identify configuration improvements and enhance platform usability. Maintain documentation of configuration changes, version control, and release notes. Support the rollout of system enhancements and provide training or guidance to end users as needed. Act as an SME for configuration capabilities during platform demos, training, and onboarding sessions. Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization. Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements in all configurations. Skills and Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ experience in configuration, systems support, or technical operations role within the insurance industry. Strong understanding of general insurance products, underwriting processes, and policy lifecycle. Experience with insurance platforms (e.g., underwriting engines, policy administration systems, rating tools). Ability to interpret product documentation and translate it into system logic. Proficient in system testing methodologies and defect management. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Experience with low‑code/no‑code platforms or configuration tools (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire, Salesforce, etc.). Familiarity with XML, JSON, or scripting languages used in configuration. Exposure to Agile or DevOps environments. Experience working with SaaS platforms or cloud‑based insurance systems. Familiarity with API integrations and data mapping. Ability to work with cross‑functional teams in a matrix structure, and product development lifecycle. Experience in documenting business logic and configuration rules for audit and training purposes. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to general insurance (e.g., APRA, ASIC).
