Senior Explosive Ordnance Engineer - Canberra QinetiQ Australia welcomes your application for the Senior Explosive Ordnance Engineer role in Canberra. The role is located on a fixed long‑term contract and is a key position within our Advisory business, supporting the integration, installation, and delivery of Naval Strike Missiles and related system capabilities. Responsibilities Develop weapon plans for maritime and munitions capabilities in accordance with policy, guidance and best practice. Plan, prepare and develop weapon integration activities, schedules and plans for platforms, including technical risk, dependencies, schedule, cost and fundamental inputs to capability elements. Deliver testing, logistics support and any supporting elements to achieve an operational capability. Support, coordinate and inform financial management including budget management. Manage and address risk, prepare contract changes, technical documentation and schedules, and other project material. Support integration activities including ship installations. Conduct certification activities for the explosive ordnance in accordance with EMB processes. Support the introduction into service of the NSM capability through MARBs and seaworthiness activities. Provide strategic support: manage data requests, visit coordination, executive brief drafting, coordination and reporting on Maritime Strike and Munitions activities. Support development of future capabilities, including Pre‑Gate 0 advice, input and document preparation in consultation with Navy. Qualifications Extensive experience as an EO Engineer. In‑depth knowledge and experience to undertake tasks of increasing complexity, including the ability to consider problems, derive solutions and decide on the best cost‑effective course of action. Thorough understanding of integration requirements both within support elements and between EO and other technical logistics disciplines.
