Overview An opportunity has arisen to join our team at Ipswich Hospital in the Breast Services CDG. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality oncoplastic breast surgery, supporting the breast cancer pathway, and contributing to service development, teaching, and clinical research with commitment to breast surgical services across the Trust as required. Responsibilities Provide full time support in the delivery of a first class breast surgery service; trained in oncoplastic breast surgery and able to support immediate and delayed breast reconstruction and salvage breast surgery. Work at Ipswich Hospital site with expectation of travel to Colchester Hospital site as required; collaborate with colleagues for planning the future development of services. Offer a full remit of breast surgery service, including outpatient and theatre lists; work collaboratively with colleagues. Participate in weekly cancer multidisciplinary team meeting and fortnightly oncoplastic MDT. Assist in developing and maintaining care pathways, clinical guidelines, and good working practices within wards, outpatients and ED. Collaborate and promote close working links with tertiary centres, community services, and primary care. Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing, imaging colleagues and other members of the multi‑disciplinary team. Postholder Will Work with colleagues to provide a consultant‑led service with the highest standards of care. Work with the multi‑professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines. Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients and ED. Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services, and primary care. Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing and imaging colleagues and other members of the multi‑disciplinary team. General The appointment is covered by the terms and conditions of service for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff under the 2003 new consultant contract and the code of conduct for private practice. The consultant will have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and for the proper functioning of the department.
