Nepean Hospital, in proud partnership with the McGrath Foundation, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Nurse Consultant (Early Breast) to join our Multidisciplinary team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families experiencing a breast cancer diagnosis. As a McGrath Breast Care Nurse, you will provide expert Clinical Care, Education and support from diagnosis and treatment through to recovery and survivorship. You will work collaboratively with Surgeons, Oncologists, Radiologists, Allied Health teams, and community services to ensure holistic, patient‑centred care. The MCCN plays a pivotal role in facilitating communication across the multidisciplinary breast cancer care team and ensuring continuity of care across hospital and community settings. This position contributes to evidence‑based clinical practice, education, and the development of supportive care pathways for people affected by breast cancer, in collaboration with Oncology, Breast Surgery, Palliative Aare, and Allied Health teams. What you will bring to the role: Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA). Minimum of five years’ post‑registration experience in surgical or medical oncology, including at least three years’ experience as a breast care nurse or in a related discipline. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in breast care or cancer nursing (minimum of one unit completed from a postgraduate certificate), with willingness to complete the full postgraduate certificate if required. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of settings, with an understanding of the practice development framework. Proven ability to implement change and develop clinical direction through the application of evidence‑based research and best practice principles. Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning, with an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management, and cultural change processes. Demonstrated ability in clinical teaching, competence in the use of contemporary health information systems, and experience developing and delivering specialty education programs. Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in patient‑centred consultancy, with the capacity to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work‑related travel as required.
