Hunger Relief Donations Driver (Townsville) About Us At Foodbank, we believe everyone should have access to food. There are Australians going without every day and we are working hard to change that. Foodbank Queensland provides millions of kilograms of food and groceries to more than 350 community partners and over 400 School Breakfast Programs each year. Together, we give food and hope to more than 150,000 Queenslanders in need each week. Key Messages: We are Queensland's largest hunger relief charity We feed Queenslanders in need every day Every $1 donated creates 2 meals Every hour, Foodbank Queensland provides 3,000 meals Each week, Foodbank Queensland supports 150,000 people in need Each year, Foodbank Queensland sources 13 million kilograms of food and groceries and provides 26 million meals to people in need The Job Foodbank Queensland's Hunger Relief Donation Drivers are on the frontline driving Foodbank Queenslands truck throughout Townsville to pick up food donations from our smaller supply partners. Foodbank Queensland's Donation Drivers help us to rescue as much food as possible to feed Queenslanders in need every day and directly support our vision for a Queensland without hunger. Tasks Include: Driving a light 4.5 tonne truck around the Greater Brisbane Area Deliver School Breakfast Program items to Schools Dropping off ready‑made meals to community partners across Brisbane Some manual handling of up to 15kgs Requirements: Support and embody our core values of respect, collaboration, compassion, trust, and responsibility Demonstrate first‑rate driving skills and have a current drivers licence Having experience driving a small truck is ideal but not necessary Having a Fork Licence would be beneficial but not necessary Be knowledgeable of the local area Has reasonable physical fitness and the ability to lift safely Experience using pallet jacks highly desirable Safety We take Workplace Health and Safety seriously at FBQ. The role operates within a fully operational warehouse environment. Applicants will receive prior to coming in a full Workplace Health and Safety Online Induction before they are allowed on the floor of the warehouse. Recruitment and Selection The first step is to complete a volunteer application form on our website, please ensure you mention which role you're applying for. We will then invite you to attend a trial shift, and all successful applicants will be contacted with more information about the next steps. A national police and traffic history check are requirements and will be completed (at Foodbank Queensland's cost) for successful applicants before commencing duties.All training and support will be provided.
