The Team The Intensive Care Unit within the LGH is an 11‑bed dynamic medical/surgical unit that prides itself on delivering excellence in health care and improving outcomes for our workforce and the Tasmanian community. We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our clients, utilizing a range of treatment options such as mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, advanced haemodynamic monitoring, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The Role The role of the Clinical Nurse Educator is to facilitate and support the development of the nursing workforce by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education programmes in the clinical setting/ward/unit. As the successful CNE you will: Plan, develop, implement and evaluate nursing education programmes and activities in the clinical setting, including core and mandatory programmes, in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, internal and external education providers, and coordinators as required. Facilitate ongoing professional development within a learning and research culture, promoting person‑centred inter‑professional learning, and where delegated, contribute to relevant groups and committees. Ensure the maintenance of records in accordance with organisational policy and programme requirements. Consult and liaise with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide educational support and evaluation in relation to staff performance development plans. Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training. Duties Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing and ancillary staff education and professional development programmes and activities in the clinical setting, including core and mandatory programmes, in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, internal and external education providers and coordinators as required. Promote and participate in quality improvement activities, including clinical risk management, to facilitate ongoing professional development within a learning and research culture. Ensure maintenance of records of completion in accordance with organisational policy and programme requirements. Liaise with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide educational support and evaluation in relation to staff performance development plans. Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training. Details of Appointment Permanent full‑time, day‑worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date. Work hours are to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455‑$105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Your salary package also includes: living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Benefits available to eligible candidates Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
