The Role As a Fund Accountant you will be responsible for managing the accounting books of a series assigned funds. You will ensure that the balance sheet and profit and loss account are accurately reported on a timely basis within tight deadlines, and ensure strong internal controls are maintained in accordance with financial policies. Using geneva as your primary tool, you will be working on both vanilla and hybrid funds which have complex instruments. In your role you will be calculating the valuations, daily and/ or monthly. Key responsibilities Handling accounting for assigned simple to complex funds, including review of daily price control checks, P&L reasonableness, inter system reconciliations, ensuring that reconciling items are investigated and resolved, or escalated in a timely manner. Ensuring controls are in place and accounts are accurate on a daily basis, providing clear and accurate management information to support decision-making. Reconciling the month end trial balance to independent support for the assigned simple to moderate complex funds. Preparing month end balance sheet reconciliation ("ME pack") fully supported with source documentation. Providing insightful commentary for balance sheet and P&L movements. Ensuring balance sheets are reported in accordance with relevant accounting standards, Investment Company Audit Guide and accounting policies as appropriate. Daily and monthly product pricing for assigned funds. Understanding the pricing methodology and valuation models for applicable products in sufficient detail to be able to ensure absolute accuracy Ad hoc duties as required - such as preparing year end audit packs, answering questions from internal and external stakeholders, helping portfolio managers and traders improve their knowledge of financial products, etc. Skills and Requirements At least 3 years of experience as a Fund Accountant working on COMPLEX hedge funds. University degree in Finance and/or Accounting. Proven interpersonal skills with strong collaboration and communication skills - you can easily recognize where you can help the team complete all daily and monthly tasks. Strong analytical skills and business acumen. Self organised with strong attention to detail. Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS is desirable not essential.
