Overview This role is a member of the store leadership team that steers ALO’s business and guest‑experience strategy in the store. The Sales & Service Manager is passionate about business targets, sales, guest experience, and elevating talent to meet ALO’s guiding principles. The north star is ensuring guest experience in the store is exceptional. Duties require constant movement in and around the store, including the sales floor and back‑of‑house. When not actively assisting guests, this position takes initiative to perform other tasks as needed to keep the store clean, safe, inviting and operating efficiently. Sales & Service Leader Investigate and root cause sales opportunities, partnering with the General Manager to elevate process or system gaps Oversee the Sales & Service team to deliver an exceptional guest experience on the floor through assessment of guest connection, technical product education and coaching to address gaps Build client relationships daily with our customers Ensure effective sales‑floor coverage through workforce solutions and lead selling initiatives throughout the store Partner with the General Manager to build and execute the Sales & Service strategy for the store Business Leader Represent the business in meetings and on conference calls in partnership with the General Manager Review, monitor and partner with the General Manager to manage the budget, reporting and other business data, including metrics such as expenses and sell‑thru, and inform planning processes Future‑plan workflow needs to protect optimal performance People Leader Ensure that the Sales, Service, and Community team exudes ALO's mission and guiding principles to communicate to guests who we are, what we do, and why Lead a team through accountability, continuous coaching, development of talent, and elevated communication across Operations and Visual teams Establish internal and external pipelines through succession planning and recruitment strategy Write an effective schedule that prioritizes the best business strategy in partnership with the General Manager/Store Manager Business Partner Oversee the execution of deliverables on the ALO Sales and Service Model, protecting operational efficiency Collaborate and implement the General/Store Manager’s vision and work cross‑functionally with business partners to support organizational goals Demonstrate the ability to navigate the organization with a balance of business need and brand culture Qualifications 3-5 years of retail or related industry leadership experience Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Agile with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a changing environment Independent work ethic, time‑management skills, and personal accountability Requires constant movement around all areas of the store Aligns with and embodies ALO’s Guiding Principles Ability to lift, push, carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, twist, and safely climb up/down a ladder Ability to stand and move for an entire shift Schedule To build a balanced schedule that supports the needs of the business and our teams, we expect all full‑time employees to be available for opening, closing, and weekend shifts. All employees without exception are expected to work during the company’s blackout period, from the week of American Thanksgiving (including Black Friday and Thanksgiving weekend) through the end of the holiday season (the 1st week of January).
