We support the journey of a Seeing Eye Dog from breeding and initial development as puppies, through advanced training, to matching them with a client and finally ending with their happy retirement after years of dedicated service. This journey is meaningful, rewarding and fun. The Opportunity Work with a skilled, passionate team of specialists in service provision and dog training, receiving on‑job training. Train dogs to matching status within the timeframe allotted. Interview clients to assess suitability for Seeing Eye Dog mobility. Support clients of all capabilities in the use of a Seeing Eye Dog, and how to care for and maintain their dog. Provide after‑care and follow‑up to clients in the field, engaging creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and good problem‑solving skills. About You Qualified Dog Guide Trainer under the International Guide Dog Federation standards (required). Advanced effective communicating skills including presentation and public speaking, written communication and a proven ability to collaborate with multiple departments within the organisation. Experience in coaching and mentoring people. Proven ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including brisk walking in all weather, and handling young, active dogs.
