Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south‑west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities. Job Tasks and Responsibilities This role is a great opportunity to contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in the Field equipment maintenance areas of our business. You will be working on a range of OEM fleet including a Letourneau Loader, 9800/9400 Liebherr & Hitachi 3600/5600 Excavators and Drills whilst working the 2 Panel Dayshift, 42 hours Monday to Sunday roster. Skills and Experience The successful candidates will display the Yancoal – ‘Our Way’ behaviours in everyday practice and fosters a ‘One Team’ culture, along with promoting the Yancoal Values of People, Safety, Innovation, Integrity and Excellence. To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes: Essential Criteria Plant Mechanic Trade Qualification or equivalent; Proven Heavy Industry experience on Excavators, Drills and Loaders. Experience on P&H 4100XPC Shovels, Draglines is also considered desirable. Excellent communication skills; Proven ability to work safely in a team environment; Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving across the Field fleet; Demonstrated ability to produce high quality of work; Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently. Desirable criteria SAP experience; Previous OEM Experience; Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets); Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
