About the Position As the Retail Buyer at ME Services and Solution Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in curating our product range to ensure Carlton Supermarket remains a go‑to destination for quality essentials. You will source reliable suppliers, manage inventory levels, and align purchases with customer demands and seasonal trends. This position encompasses negotiating contracts, monitoring market dynamics, and collaborating with our sales and management teams to optimise pricing and promotions, ultimately driving stock efficiency and profitability in our compact, community‑oriented retail setting where your strategic decisions directly enhance our commitment to affordable, fresh, and convenient shopping experiences. Key Responsibilities Monitors sales data and stock levels and studies trade, manufacturers’, and market information to keep informed of changing market conditions. Negotiates purchase, promotion, and supply arrangements with suppliers. Designs and implements pricing, marketing, promotional and display strategies. Liaises with management on long‑term planning and sales promotions. Establishes working plans according to seasonal and budgetary requirements. Anticipates consumer trends and determines the quantity, style, and quality of goods to be purchased. Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Minimum AQF Associate Degree or equivalent, or at least 3 years of relevant experience. 2–3 years experience as a retail buyer or in a related field. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in inventory management software, market analysis tools, and data interpretation for trend forecasting. Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective negotiation, relationship‑building with suppliers, and clear communication within a team environment.
