As a Senior Platform Engineer , you’ll play a critical role in evolving our core architecture, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and built for rapid iteration. You’ll have deep ownership over key parts of our platform, working across the stack and shaping the technical direction of the product. You’ll work primarily with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions and leveraging AWS services to deliver performant, secure, and maintainable systems. We value strong engineering practices - from thoughtful design and automation to operational excellence. In this role, you will: Collaborate within a small but growing, cross-functional team (engineering, product, design) to ideate, design, and deliver features that power the Checkbox platform. Lead and contribute to the design and implementation of scalable systems and APIs, ensuring maintainability, observability, and operational resilience. Guide technical discussions, run design reviews, and mentor other engineers through code reviews and pair programming. Continuously improve our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and developer experience to accelerate delivery and maintain high standards of reliability. Champion engineering best practices - from testing and monitoring to secure and efficient cloud deployments - balancing velocity with quality and pragmatism. Contribute to the evolution of our architecture as we scale our product, infrastructure, and teams. About you 5+ years of professional experience operating and scaling global application platforms using Kubernetes. Deep understanding of cloud architectures and paradigms from containers and serverless to event systems and streaming and experience with at least one of the big cloud providers. Solid programming foundations (our main languages are Go and Typescript) A love for automation, scripting and building tooling. An understanding of tenancy and data segregation. Comfortable designing and owning complex systems end-to-end - from ideation through delivery and monitoring. Pragmatic and adaptable - you focus on delivering customer value, navigating ambiguity, and iterating quickly while maintaining quality.
