Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Aged Care Physician to join the Division of Medicine / Division of Sub-Acute Services. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. About the Role: This role requires the successful applicant to participate in a variety of Sub-Acute roles in both our community and hospital-based services including some weekend and on-call cover. This role is for 0.2 FTE up to 0.4 FTE on a fixed term basis to cover Parental Leave. This consultant will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members - including allied health clinicians, nursing and medical staff - to deliver high-quality services. You will have a strong commitment to the provision of safe patient care and a willingness to participate in Divisional quality activities. To be successful in this role you will have: A College of Physicians Fellowship (FRACP) Solid knowledge of aged care and general medicine, with skills to manage complex inpatients. Show initiative and enthusiasm, and be ready to lend support to other team members Strive to maintain a harmonious, academically stimulating work environment by being friendly, open and communicative Must have a proven track record of excellence in aged care and general medicine with a demonstrated commitment to continued improvement, team work and ideally research Must have a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to education of themselves, their colleagues, junior staff, other team members, and medical students.
