Join us as Head of Learning to create education experiences that empower adults to challenge gender stereotypes and build equality early. 31st October, 2025 About Us The Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a non-government, not-for-profit, charitable organisation that supports clients in crisis and advocates for social change in the community. By 'client', we refer to all women (cis and trans), families and non-binary people comfortable in women-centric spaces. We work across Sydney, on the lands of the Gadigal, Wangal and Dharug people of the Eora Nation and our Prevention activities extend across many Aboriginal nations and language groups. We seek always to work respectfully in partnership with communities and in accordance with local protocols. For over 45 years we have been doing this work in partnership with community, business and government stakeholders. Every night, we support 200 clients impacted by homelessness, domestic violence and systemic disadvantage. Equally, we seek to address the underlying causes of gender-based violence through primary prevention activities to end gender-based violence in a generation. Program Overview – All In All In is a multi-year primary prevention of gender-based violence programme that works directly with adults. We engage early childhood education professionals, families, communities and other influential adults, giving them the skills, knowledge and confidence to actively challenge gender stereotypes that impact negatively on children in the early years. All In contributes to the primary prevention of gender-based violence in NSW through delivering gender equality and respectful relationships education to influential adults in early childhood education and community settings. It supports the prevention of violence by providing influential adults with practical tools to support children in developing healthy, respectful relationships and valuing people of all genders from their early years. The All In programme is a major strategic and policy initiative funded and endorsed by NSW Government under the Pathways to Prevention Strategy 2024‑2028. Head of Learning – Role The Head of Learning leads the design, development, and delivery of engaging, research‑informed learning experiences for the All In programme. This role also manages the development of content across the broader Primary Prevention team as needed. The role ensures that curriculum, training modules, and content delivered in‑person and through our digital learning platforms are high‑quality, evidence‑based, and accessible to diverse audiences. With expertise in adult learning, community training and digital education, the Head of Learning oversees the creation of new resources, manages the build‑out and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS), and drives continuous improvement across all WAGEC’s Prevention training and content initiatives. The role also works with WAGEC’s Director of Fundraising and Communities and Brand and Communications Manager to support an external communication strategy, including social media channels, overseeing the design and development of reports and collateral for engagement, impact reporting and educational purposes. The Head of Learning manages the Content and Innovation Coordinator and works closely with external consultants, contractors, and the program team to ensure consistency, innovation and impact across all content delivery, building evidence‑based knowledge and learning for diverse audiences including influential adults, children and young people and WAGEC’s key prevention partners (eg. educators, community, government and private sector). This is a full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term role with a view to extend. It is based in Redfern, with some travel throughout NSW required. Core Responsibilities Designing, developing and overseeing All In’s evidence‑based curriculum and training resources, translating complex concepts into accessible, engaging learning experiences for educators, influential adults primarily and the WAGEC general audience. Managing the development of new online assets and digital offerings. Ensuring excellence in primary prevention training, learning and development across the Prevention team, WAGEC staff and external audiences. Overseeing and supporting positive and respectful relationships. Proactively and positively contributing to WAGEC’s culture and impact. About You Demonstrated expertise in adult learning, curriculum design, instructional design, training and development. Experience leading the design and delivery of in‑person, online and blended learning programmes. Minimum 3 years of professional experience delivering learning activities in education settings. Proven ability to develop resources and deliver training across multiple formats. Experience managing digital platforms, including backend administration and content integration. Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, consultants and vendors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible learning experiences. Demonstrated commitment to gender equality, social inclusion and primary prevention. Experience working with social service and government partners including domestic and family violence, homelessness, young people, health or other related contexts. Qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience in the areas of respectful relationships education in schools, adult learning, instructional design, e‑learning, curriculum development, or other relevant fields.
