Key Responsibilities Create and curate compelling and engaging social media content for and PerthNow. Manage and populate and PerthNows social media accounts in conjunction with the wider digital team. Use graphic design and video tools such as Adobe Express to help create engaging social media content. Manage and PerthNows paid social media accounts to ensure optimum reach and CTR. Advise on Seven West Medias social media strategy and ensure the social media channels align with this strategy. Identify trending story opportunities on social media. Identify new online readers to expand the audience for the website. Collaborate with digital producers reporters editors and the video team to ensure our news stories are given the right social media treatment. Have a keen interest in news at a local national and international level. Identify new social media channels and opportunities to capture new audiences. Apply news judgment and use analytical tools to maximize social media visibility. Maintain awareness of legal and ethical issues in reporting. Continuously upskill and stay updated with technology digital and social trends. Work effectively in a collaborative fast-paced deadline-driven environment. What You Bring A journalism degree and experience working within the media industry or in a similar social media role. A strong work ethic and a healthy level of initiative A high level of literacy and attention to detail Good interview and communication skills The ability to work autonomously under high pressure. Flexibility in a seven-day newsroom - including weekend shifts.
