Office Manager (EOC) - the Hon Tim Wilson MP The office of the Hon Tim Wilson MP is looking for a dynamic and focused full-time ongoing Office Manager to lead his electorate office in Brighton East, VIC. Position Overview This position is the senior staff role in the Member’s office and is responsible for leading the team, managing office operations, and supporting the Member’s political and community responsibilities. The role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to design and execute strategy within a small team. The Office Manager ensures that the office runs efficiently and effectively, oversees campaign and community engagement activities, and supports the Member’s work in the community. This is a dynamic role that will suit an energetic, highly organised and politically astute professional with a strong understanding of Australia’s political system and a proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and stakeholder relationships. While this role may involve occasional travel to Canberra during Parliamentary sitting weeks, applicants should not expect this to be a regular requirement of the position. Key Duties Lead a professional workplace, manage the office team, oversee recruitment and onboarding, staff development, and leave and travel approvals. Track and reconcile office budgets, manage office systems and policies, and liaise with Parliamentary ICT and Ministerial & Parliamentary Services. Ensure the office is campaign-ready; develop and implement strategies for community and multicultural engagement; oversee volunteers and interns. Provide political, portfolio, policy, parliamentary, and media advice to the Member; support strategic planning and implementation of priorities. Manage stakeholder relationships across all facets of the Member’s work; represent the Member as required; and provide high-level portfolio advice. Oversee constituent engagement, office administration, and CRM management; contribute to team tasks; undertake travel as required. Ideal Applicant Demonstrated leadership and management experience, ideally in a political, parliamentary, or government setting. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail. Experience in stakeholder engagement and community outreach. A sound understanding of Australia’s political system, parliamentary processes, and election campaigns. Strong financial management skills and proficiency with office IT systems and CRMs. Flexibility to undertake occasional after-hours work and travel as required. Employment Conditions The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement which include: A commencing salary between $88,160 and $99,305 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills. An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work and any travel requirements. Relocation assistance, studies assistance, and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements). An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable. Additional Information An initial probationary period of three months may apply and may be subject to extension. The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check. Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act. The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards.
