A great opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by Steve Jefferys, an industry icon whose profound horsemanship has shaped many equine spectacles around the world. We are seeking a candidate with a rare blend of inherent ability and an insatiable desire to learn. Your primary focus will be on Weanling & Yearling Education: Developing quiet, confident young horses through progressive handling, instilling good ground manners. Pre-Training & Breaking-In Principles: Understanding the art of introducing equipment, lunging, long-reining, and the initial stages of ridden work with patience and precision. Mastering your ability to feel and use pressure to develop soft, balanced and responsive horses. Introduce and develop the skills of our horses to the track and daily racehorse routines such as barriers and swimming. You will initially work alongside Steve, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills and understanding deepen, with the ultimate goal of leading our young horse education program at state-of-the-art facilities at Hawkesbury Race Club, and Cangon Farm Dungog. We are not looking for just a rider, we are looking for talented Horseman or Horsewoman as this is more than a job – it’s a chance to shape your future and the future of our young horses.
