FoodByUs is an online ordering platform which helps restaurants manage their wholesale procurement function. Founded in 2016 by some of the team behind Menulog, the company operates in Australia and has seen extensive growth in recent years.
About the role.
Joining our Sydney team, the Head of Operations/COO will operate as a senior strategic partner (2iC) to our CEO and plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the organisation by overseeing and optimising commercial activities.This key leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in commercial operations, operational leadership, risk management, cross functional collaboration. and is happy to get your hands dirty in the daily operations of our fast paced start-up.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the CEO & executive team to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organisational goals.Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency.Collaborate with the CEO on new commercial initiatives eg staff requirements, new markets entry, new revenue streamLead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing operations team - (with the assistance of 1 x ‘Head of’)Coordinate and align efforts across departments to maximise organisational efficiency.Oversee and coordinate special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CEO.Develop zero-to-one project plans, set timelines, and track milestones to ensure successful completion.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing/ Sales/ Tech & Business Support) to achieve project objectivesWorking with our in house Data Analyst, utilise data analytics to assess performance, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.Board reporting; Financial performance/ Strategic initiatives/ Operations/ Risk management./ KPI’s and Commercial activityWhat are we looking for:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Proven experience in a senior commercial operations, leadership or managerial role.Demonstrated skills as a confident, influential leader (required)Excellent project management and organisational skills.Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving abilities - (experience in Tableau, Power-BI or related, highly desirable)Proven experience in presenting to senior management level up to and including executive level (required)Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment - previous experience in a tech startup/ software company highly desirable.Why us?This represents a HUGE opportunity to get involved early in a start-up with massive potential.
