Executive Manager - Professional Standards and Safeguarding - Catholic Education Services, Cairns Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns – Cairns, QLD. About the Role This role leads and shapes safeguarding across the Diocese of Cairns, overseeing the Professional Standards and Safeguarding Office. Responsibilities span all entities within the Roman Catholic Trust Corporation, including Catholic Early Learning, Centacare, the parishes, and may include direct support to the Bishop of Cairns. Expectations Provide a prevention‑to‑intervention focus rooted in restorative justice. Receive and manage complaints and grievances. Investigate complaints or referrals of alleged serious misconduct. Prepare confidential reports. Review and develop policies. Support and advise clergy, executives, managers, and principals. Qualifications and Requirements Qualifications Tertiary qualification relevant to the role. Hold a Working with Children Blue Card, unless an exemption applies. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience working with regulatory or statutory bodies. A demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision, and ethos of the Catholic Church. Evidence of personal professional development in areas relevant to this role. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and implementation of safeguarding practices. Demonstrated experience in managing complaints and investigations. Intending applicants must be fully committed to creating and maintaining a child‑safe organisation.
