Specialty Lead – Psychiatry Join the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) as a Specialty Lead – Psychiatry in the Mental Health (MHP) Portfolio. This role is based in Sydney at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards. Position Overview Support the development and continuous improvement of HETI Psychiatry courses and other relevant units through discipline‑specific input. Key Responsibilities Provide subject‑matter expertise to enhance course content and delivery. Collaborate with curriculum developers to align courses with current psychiatric practice and policy. Contribute to the evaluation and strategic leadership of specialist mental health training. Selection Criteria Medical qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; specialist or consultant experience; relevant specialist qualification (e.g., FRANZCP). Evidence of being a mental health expert with ongoing professional development and practice experience. Evidence of educational leadership experience, including delivery, evaluation, and strategic leadership of mental health training. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites. Strong understanding of current policies, frameworks and issues in psychiatry and mental health, with capacity to inform course development. High‑level oral and written communication skills, including critical analysis and strategic solution development. Strong planning, project management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks.
