Senior Physiotherapist - Trauma and Acute Surgery Department of Health Tasmania – Hobart TAS In the role of Senior Physiotherapist (Trauma and Acute Surgery) you will provide optimal evidence-based physiotherapy to trauma and acute surgery patients in the Trauma and Acute Surgery Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment including the trauma and surgical wards to deliver evidence driven patient centred care and act as a consultative resource across the acute care service. As a member of the physiotherapy team, you will contribute to a culture of learning and foster leadership and innovation. The Role: The Trauma and Acute Surgery Senior Physiotherapist will perform duties including: Provide evidence driven patient centred physiotherapy care to trauma and surgical patients, facilitating patient flow, discharge planning and preventing hospital re-admission. Promote a learning culture supporting leadership and clinical supervision to physiotherapists, allied health assistants and undergraduate students. Provide clinical expertise and professional education to Physiotherapy, Allied Health, Medical and Nursing Teams, and external agencies, particularly in relation to the trauma patient cohort. Foster innovation and support Quality Improvement and Service Delivery projects. You will need: Significant general and specific physiotherapist experience relevant to the identified clinical area/unit in conjunction with sound knowledge of contemporary physiotherapy practice including assessment, intervention techniques, literature, resources and equipment. Proven commitment to ongoing professional development and ability to supervise and educate other health professionals, undergraduate students and support workers, and a continuing contribution to knowledge in the identified clinical area/unit. Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a complex multidisciplinary environment. Details of appointment: Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until the 29 August 2026. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022. Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to a salary package and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme. Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
