There are multiple AO4 and AO5 positions available throughout Queensland. Operating across the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) as a Senior Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of regulatory activities from a compliance, licensing and client service perspective focusing on liquor, gambling and other relevant legislation administered by the OLGR. You will play an active role in ensuring that the liquor and gambling industries of Queensland continue to operate in a safe and responsible manner. Sound like something you are interested in? Please ensure you apply separately for the AO4 and AO5, or both if interested in both roles. Inspections and Regional Services (IRS) is one of three teams within the Compliance (LG) Division. IRS consists of 62 employees located in nine locations across Queensland, with compliance programs executed by Inspectors ensuring the liquor and gaming industry in Queensland operates in a responsible manner, meeting legislative obligations. Your Key Responsibilities Participate in a broad range of liquor and gambling compliance interventions, including audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance monitoring activities. Undertake compliance and licensing related investigations into complaints, and suspected breaches of legislation including the recommendation to more senior officers to initiate high end enforcement action. Research, analyse and interpret legislation, and apply relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to achieve positive compliance outcomes. Prepare written correspondence including advice and warning letters and investigation reports for review. Drafting of documents required for legal proceedings. Attend court and give evidence as a witness in legal proceedings. Assist in the training and development of less experienced staff. Provide feedback to the Principal Compliance Officer regarding development requirements. Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of harm minimisation strategies within the liquor and gambling industries. Engage with industry stakeholders, community groups and other relevant parties to provide guidance and education on liquor and gambling legislation. Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by supervisory and management staff, ensuring adherence to professional standards and organisational objectives. Technical Skills, Abilities And Cultural Capability Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of liquor, gambling and other relevant legislation administered by the OLGR and an ability to apply that knowledge in a regulatory environment. Completes workload within established timeframes and adjusts priorities quickly as circumstances dictate. Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders and maintains professionalism in all circumstances. High level written communication skills across a variety of correspondence. Ability to effectively operate computer systems including the use of Microsoft Office suite products. Ability to work well within a team environment. Effective interpersonal skills including customer service, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate with people from diverse cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. You may be required to travel throughout the state including to rural and remote areas therefore a current “C” class driver's licence is a mandatory requirement.
