Overview Department of Education Victoria – Melbourne VIC. Elevation Secondary College is an evidence‑based school located approximately 23 km from Melbourne in the northern growth corridor, serving the Aston, Highlands Estates, Craigieburn, Greenvale and Mickleham communities. The school opened in 2020, currently has over 1,100 students (Year 7‑12) and celebrated its inaugural graduating class in December 2025. Role Assistant Principal – Positive Climate for Learning – Mini School. The start date is negotiable; the preferred commencement is Term 1 2026. Responsibilities Maintain and lead the development of an orderly classroom environment within the school. Lead an effective team of Year‑level leaders and coordinators within the Mini School Team. Monitor and improve attendance and overall school participation for the target year levels. Lead and manage groups of teachers, including classroom teachers and Mentor Group teachers. liaise with external agencies, networks and providers to support student learning. Collaborate with the careers team and year‑level teams to build an effective pathways program. Support IEP development and the SSG process for students with additional needs and significant behavioural needs. Support the implementation of subject selection and other Mini School–related programs such as transition and proactive programmes. Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the whole school as part of the Executive Team. Typical Assistant Principal Functions Supervising and coordinating the work of senior curriculum or level coordinators. Allocating budgets and other resources within the area of responsibility. Managing programmes to improve staff knowledge and experience. Handling general discipline matters beyond classroom management. Contributing to overall school management. Qualifications Registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, with evidence of visionary and exemplary school leadership. Strong financial, organisational and resource management skills. Demonstrated capacity to develop and review planning, policy and programme initiatives. Ability to motivate staff and create a learning environment that recognises individual student needs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Who May Apply Appropriately qualified individuals with current registration or eligibility with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
