Estimating Manager

Over the last few years our Western Region has been going through an unparalleled period of growth. We have been very busy delivering some of the state's largest and most iconic infrastructure projects. We are currently shortlisted on a number of projects across the state and our work winning team is busy tendering a more diverse array of projects from a broader variety of clients.
As a key member of our leadership team your role will see you take holistic management of the estimating function, overseeing the preparation of pricing inputs for multi-discipline construction projects across the region.
Key accountabilities for the position:
Ensuring that the estimating department delivers required outcomes.Ensuring legislative and authority critical issues are communicated quickly and efficiently to Senior Management.Keeping abreast of applicable Company issues and updates site personnel.Reviewing and assessing tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and are correct.Managing the compilation of letter of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender.Reviewing tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc and provide feedback to the Regional Manager.Ensuring that the final contract documents are consistent with the original estimateManaging the preparation of cost plans.Attracting, recruiting, allocating and retaining estimating staff in collaboration with the Regional Manager and Human Resources Department.What Capability & Experience will you need to have :10 years plus Estimating experience in civil infrastructure, ideally working on major projects.Formal qualifications in Civil Engineering preferred.Advanced estimating skills using Candy and Expert estimating software.Expert knowledge of technical standards in preparing estimates and project costings.Comfortable leading and allocating work to a small team while prioritising workload and meet deadlines.
