You will be involved in delivering comprehensive, high-quality psychiatric services for young people 0-18 years of age, whilst working within a framework of evidence-based services, recovery focused and trauma informed care. Your primary responsibilities will include assessment and treatment of children and young people at various sites across the north-west Tasmania region including outreach clinics, within the young person’s residence, and to young people who present to the hospital emergency department and who are subsequently admitted. Additional responsibilities will include participating in clinical reviews, providing consultancy services for other team members and units within the hospital, ensuring clinical governance requirements are met across the clinical stream, and promoting and maintaining close links with other specialist, general practitioners and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care. The area is the fourth largest city on the island of Tasmania, located approximately 325 kilometres north-west of the capital city, Hobart.
