Visiting Medical Officer in General Surgery (Colorectal) CCLHD – Apply via eCredential Employment Type: Visiting Medical Officer Position Classification: Visiting Medical Officer Requisition ID: REQ Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for registration in New South Wales for the Department of General Surgery, Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). Applicants must be Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or have other specialist recognition as provided for in the Visiting Medical Officer Determination. They are required to have Post Fellowship Colorectal training recognised by the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) or equivalent. Central Coast is comprised of Gosford and Wyong, positioned between Sydney and Newcastle, and is projected to grow from approximately 300,000 to 450,000 residents before 2030. The Local Health District has strong connections with Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle. This position has obligations to both Gosford Hospital under Sessional arrangements and Wyong Hospital under Fee for Service arrangements. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Visiting Medical Officer Determination. Eligibility and Requirements Medical Practitioner registered or able to be registered in Australia, inclusive of an unrestricted or 19AB exempted provider number. Recognised specialist qualifications, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and / or other equivalent specialist recognition. Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in General Surgery. Post Fellowship Colorectal training recognised by CSSANZ or equivalent. Ability to work constructively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated willingness and ability to lead and supervise medical and surgical trainees, residents and medical students; experience in teaching the management of the deteriorating patient would be advantageous. Demonstrated interest in quality improvement methodologies.
