The Role We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our busy asphalt plant in Caloundra on a full-time basis. Key responsibilities for this position include: Carrying out a wide range of testing for construction materials, such as asphalt and aggregates Undertaking testing results analysis and interpretation Applying appropriate procedures and equipment based on testing requirements Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining equipment Devising standard operation procedures for test equipment Preparation of reports and assessments Ensuring the safe operation of equipment Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders The Ideal Candidate will possess the following essential skills and experience: Preferably a Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques in CMT Testing Valid Driver’s license Strong mathematical or technical abilities Ability to work flexible hours including night shift & weekends as required Flexibility to travel and work away when required (LAHA Allowance) Ability to work under pressure and work through issues Self-motivated with the ability to follow instructions The successful applicant will be rewarded with: A competitive Hourly Rate + OT + Allowances Corporate Fitness Program + discounts on meals, supplements, active wear & MORE Life insurance & health care benefits Paid Parental Leave Program Employee recognition & assistance programs Free annual flu vaccinations Colas Australia Group does not accept any unsolicited resume referrals from Recruitment Agencies.
