We are seeking an outstanding Assistant Accountant to join the team at Grow Energy, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions. We have two businesses at one location: Grow Energy and Moorabbin Batteries. Our business is everything related to batteries from automotive, portable power stations and home storage batteries. We are a small team of 10 so you will need to be able to work as a team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of our growing company based in Cheltenham, VIC. This is a full‑time position offering opportunities for career growth and development. Candidates must have Australian work rights for this position. What you’ll be doing Preparing and processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, including raising purchase orders and tracking them through Xero; managing receivables to maintain quality workmanship and strong relationships. Reconciling bank statements and maintaining accurate financial records across Xero, Shopify and Tyro banking. Assisting with monthly and quarterly financial reports using Xero and Shopify. Interacting with solar customers regarding scheduling and payments. Working with rebate platforms such as Formbay and Solar Victoria to upload and process documents. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing efficiencies to achieve KPI and targets for job satisfaction. What we’re looking for Passionate about accounting with basic knowledge, and the ability to set procedures in platforms such as Xero, Shopify and Tyro; open to creating new procedures. Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications; strong Excel skills. Essential experience with Xero accounting software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with team, customers and suppliers. What we offer Competitive remuneration and opportunities for career progression.
