Programmed Maintenance Services – Cannington WA Senior Compliance Engineer Persol is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Engineer to join a leading energy company in ensuring network safety and asset management compliance across Western Australia. This is a critical role focused on regulatory adherence, continuous improvement, auditing, and performance reporting. About the Role: You will lead the development and implementation of compliance frameworks, work closely with internal teams and regional operations, and manage relationships with regulators. Your work will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant asset management practices across the business. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures, including the Electricity Network Safety Management System (ENSMS). Review business processes and implement fit‑for‑purpose improvements with stakeholders. Consult across teams (regional operations, system operations, safety, remote communities) to ensure compliance. Coordinate responses to regulators regarding incidents, investigations, and asset performance. Prepare regulatory reports, including quarterly and annual performance reports, and executive updates. Provide guidance and support to employees and contractors to meet asset management and network safety obligations. Assurance & Auditing: Develop and refine assessment tools and performance reports to support standardisation and continuous improvement. Facilitate internal and external audits of regulatory compliance and ENSMS‑related policies, procedures, and standards. Advise on the impact of changes to network safety regulations. Maintain strong relationships with regulators and senior executives to deliver compliance objectives successfully. Essential Criteria: Advanced understanding of safety management systems, policies, and practices. Strong knowledge of WA power industry regulatory environment. Strong understanding of Asset Management Systems/Frameworks, including Asset and Network Risk Management. Advanced understanding of equipment used in the management and operations of an electrical network. Strong understanding of the Electricity (Network Safety) Regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and technical writing. Proven experience in regulatory compliance, asset management, or network safety. Experience in auditing, assurance, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication, consultation, and collaboration skills. Willingness to travel across regional WA. WA Driver's License (Class C or C-A). Ability to work flexible hours when required. Desired Criteria: Experience working in regional or remote locations in WA. Previous experience liaising with regulators, inspectors, or government bodies. Familiarity with asset management systems, GIS tools, or technical reporting software. Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor junior staff in compliance or asset management roles.
