Tennanova is rethinking how tennis is coached with an AI‑powered platform that transforms lesson planning from a 20‑minute task into a 15‑second process. We’re building intelligent coaching tools that give tennis coaches back 10–15+ hours per week, allowing them to focus on what matters – actually coaching. We’re working with federations and coach networks globally, starting with Tennis Australia’s ecosystem. This is a ground‑floor opportunity to shape a product that will impact thousands of coaches and millions of players worldwide. The Role As our Founding Engineer, you’ll be the technical co‑creator of Tennanova’s platform. You’ll work directly with our founder, full‑stack developer and active tennis coach, to build and scale a mobile‑first coaching platform. This isn’t just writing code – you’ll be making architectural decisions, shaping our tech stack, and building the foundation for a product used by coaches globally. The role is hybrid in Melbourne with flexibility for remote work. What You’ll Build AI‑powered lesson generation and session prep (pulling from coach templates + player history) Step‑by‑step lesson guidance with Live Activities & Dynamic Island integration Smart calendar with native iOS sync and push notifications Post‑lesson capture flow with instant parent/client summaries Player profile system with notes, lesson history, and analytical insights with visualizations Web Platform Coach dashboard and management tools Analytics and reporting (line charts, aggregated metrics from lesson data) Player progress tracking and insights Administrative features for practice management Supabase‑based infrastructure AI/ML integration for lesson planning and insights generation Calendar and notification systems Data aggregation and analytics pipelines What We’re Looking For Required: Strong experience with Swift & SwiftUI for iOS development Proficiency in Kotlin, Java or React Native for Android development Solid foundation in Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS Experience with Supabase or similar backend‑as‑a‑service platforms Comfort building real‑time features and notification systems Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions in a resource‑constrained startup environment Nice to Have: Experience with iOS‑specific features (Live Activities, Dynamic Island, WidgetKit) Native calendar integration and sync (CalendarKit, EventKit) Experience integrating AI/ML features into production applications Background in B2B SaaS or sports tech Interest in or knowledge of tennis coaching What We Value Builders who ship fast and iterate based on real user feedback from actual coaches Technical pragmatism over perfectionism: we need MVPs that work, not over‑engineered solutions Understanding of mobile‑first UX, especially for users actively coaching Direct communication and collaborative problem‑solving Ownership mentality – you’ll have significant autonomy and responsibility What You’ll Get Equity stake as a founding team member (30% but negotiable) Competitive salary (based on experience and once funding is acquired) Direct impact on product direction and company trajectory Flexible hybrid work arrangement Opportunity to build something coaches actually love and use daily Work alongside a founder who uses the product daily and deeply understands the problem Not Required Formal degree (we care about what you can build, not where you studied) Years of experience at big tech companies Experience in every part of our stack (if you’re strong in most areas and willing to learn, let’s talk) To Apply A project you’ve built that you’re proud of (link if possible) Why you’re interested in early‑stage startups Any questions you have about Tennanova or the role.
