Senior Consultant – Workplace Relations Advisory As a Senior Consultant in KPMG’s Workplace Relations Advisory team, you will work across a diverse range of clients and industries to deliver tailored solutions that address complex workforce and industrial relations challenges. Your work spans industrial environment assessments, design of consultation and communication frameworks, and development of enterprise agreement strategies. You will also support wage compliance reviews, provide subject‑matter expertise on transformation projects, and collaborate with consulting colleagues on change‑management initiatives. Typical examples of the work we deliver Current‑state assessments of an organisation’s industrial environment, including awards, enterprise agreements, union relationships, and workforce demographics. Stakeholder consultation & communication frameworks that help organisations meet industrial‑relations requirements while communicating their vision. Development of all aspects of enterprise agreements: long‑term strategies, negotiation and campaign planning, and tactical advice to align agreements with future workforce strategy. Support for wage compliance reviews by providing key industrial‑relations insight and interpreting instrument clauses. Provision of subject‑matter expertise on projects such as restructures, mergers, acquisitions, and system configurations. Close collaboration with consulting colleagues on broader transformational change assignments. How you are extraordinary You are passionate about fantastic communication and can distil complex concepts in written and verbal form. You thrive on detail, with a proactive attitude toward accuracy and deadlines. Your experience and qualifications Understanding of Australian industrial relations: Fair Work Act, modern awards, enterprise agreements, state systems, key stakeholders (employees, FWC, FWO, unions, employer associations), and the process for making and varying instruments. Ability to translate industrial relations into practical, actionable advice. Capability to see the big picture: how industrial relations may impact clients, business, employees, and regulators. Interest in broadening expertise beyond industrial relations (communications, change management, learning and development, talent management). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel) or willingness to learn. High attention to detail. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Employment Law, HR, Industrial Relations (law qualification not required).
